Mission Classes

Im going to be splitting up different mission profiles in classes, so they are easier to understand, and name. The following list is in no particular order.

  • 'Ooievaar' (Dutch for White Stork) class missions focus on human habitats and transportation in space. In European Folklore, White Storks are usually depicted carrying infants, hence the name.
  • 'Pelikaan' (Dutch for Pelican) class missions focus on cargo transportation and In Situ resource extraction.
  • 'Specht' (Dutch for Woodpecker) class missions focus on space debris research and recycling.
  • 'Kraai' (Dutch for Crow) class missions focus on returning payloads from space to Earth and other atmospheric bodies around the solar system.
  • 'Papegaai' (Dutch for Parrot) class missions focus around testing the systems for future missions.
My goal is to first test the main systems in the Papegaai class missions and then branch off to build commercial space stations, cargo and passenger transportation networks, In Situ Resource Extraction bases, and space junk recycling networks later on. The whole process might take a long while though, maybe 20-30 years.

Welcome to Industrial Sky!

Hello everyone. Im a bored teen from the Netherlands!

I want to start a spaceflight company. My company (Industrial Sky) does not exist yet, and it might take a decade for it to be real.

Industrial Sky is a company that specializes in space habitation and orbital transportation.

In this blog i will be posting progress and ideas.
